Two weeks to go until the European Stroke Organisation Conference, and preparations are well underway.
Delighted that our team will be contributing to two sessions exploring how brain organisation and biological mechanisms can help advance stroke recovery and precision medicine.
𧠠Pedro Nascimento Alves will present his new work on neurotransmitter-specific circuit disruption of the language network, showing how distinct patterns of disconnections at the molecular level may help predict treatment response in aphasia.
đ§ I will present our team's work on brain variability and individual trajectories of cognitive recovery, focusing on why no two brains â and no two recoveries â are the same when it comes to language recovery.
Stroke recovery is more than lesion location. It is shaped by distributed networks, biology, and the unique architecture of each individual brain.
Looking forward to stimulating discussions in Maastricht and to connecting with colleagues across the field. Many thanks to the ESOC organisers and the fanstic team behind the FESN Stroke Interest Group.
